Fall Classic Polo Match Set For November 6
(August 2011) Ravenel, SC – The grounds at Hyde Park Farm and Polo Club again will echo with the
pounding of hooves and the tinkle of glasses on Sunday, November 6 as professionals from the United
States and abroad face off with well-known amateurs players including South Carolina legislator Chip
Limehouse at the Fall Classic Polo Match. The gate opens at 1 pm, with the match beginning at 3 pm.
“The spring match was a big hit with local fans and the players, and we expect the fall edition to deliver
more fun and excitement,” says Amy Vann Flowers, owner of Hyde Park Farm and organizer of the
annual event. “It’s a great way for friends and families to spend a Sunday afternoon and also benefit a
In addition to the polo match, the Fall Classic will feature live music, and food and beverages from local
vendors. Reserved tents are available for groups that want to set up their own parties, while tailgating
spots along the field can be purchased in advance or at the gate. General admission is $12, with
children under 10 admitted free.
The 380-acre Hyde Park Farm and Polo Club, situated approximately 20 miles from Charleston, features
polo fields, expansive pastures and paddocks, and a renovated 1880s farm house with a heated
saltwater pool. The farm offers turnkey polo instruction through its on-site, professionally staffed school,
and also arranges matches for interested players. Hyde Park Farm also provides complete boarding
