McDaniels Audi of Charleston Becomes Presenting Sponsor of Fall Classic Polo Match at Hyde Park Farm and Polo Club
(September 2011) Ravenel, SC – The grounds at Hyde Park Farm and Polo Club always showcase sleek ponies, but other forms of transportation also will be on display November 6 as McDaniels Audi of Charleston becomes the official sponsor of the Fall Classic Polo Match. The gate opens at 1 pm, with the 3 pm match featuring professional and amateur players from the United States and abroad. “We’re very pleased to become involved with this exciting and fun event that certainly appeals to a very discriminating audience,” says Bill McDaniels, president of the South Carolina-based McDaniels Automotive Group. “We also like being able to assist Hyde Park Farm in its support of local charitable activities.”
McDaniels Automotive Group was founded in 1989 and operates multiple dealerships in Charleston and Columbia. In addition to Audi, McDaniels also offers Acura, Porsche, Subaru, Volkswagen and Mazda. Known for his philanthropic efforts, Bill McDaniels has spearheaded the effort to raise $3 million for the Palmetto Health Cancer Centers.
In addition to the polo match, the McDaniels Audi of Charleston Fall Polo Classic will feature live music, and food and beverages from selected local vendors. Reserved tents are available for groups that want to set up their own parties, while tailgating spots along the field can be purchased in advance or at the gate. General admission is $12, with children 10 and under admitted free. Among the players participating on November 6 will be South Carolina legislator Chip Limehouse. His father, former South Carolina Secretary of Transportation Buck Limehouse, will serve as announcer for the match.
“It’s certainly an honor to have McDaniels Audi associated with our fall event, and we look forward to a long and productive relationship,” says Amy Vann Flowers, owner of Hyde Park Farm and organizer of the annual event. “Our fall match is a great way for friends and families to spend a Sunday afternoon and also benefit a local charity.”
